What is Fire Extinguisher Hydrotesting?

Hydrostatic testing (hydrotesting) is a pressure test performed on fire extinguisher cylinders to evaluate the structural integrity of the shell. The cylinder is filled with water and pressurized to 125–150% of its rated working pressure. It must hold pressure for at least 30 seconds without deformation or leakage to pass the test.
